The sky high peas out stretched their supports and paid the price.  During the recent heavy rains and moderate winds, the peas fell over.  I think they are okay, but they are certainly more susceptible to a hungry deer wandering by.  Next year I will have to investigate a taller pea fence or a shorter variety of peas.

Collapse of the peas

Special note:  This is the 100th post to the garden blog.  Free vegetables to the the first commenter.  🙂

UPDATE:  Looks like it took all of about 9 min to get a winner for the free vegetables.  Congrats to Alex for having the quick trigger.  For the rest of you, fear not, there will be plenty of other opportunities for free vegetables throughout the summer.  For those lucky (or unlucky) enough to live nearby, you just have to walk over and ask.
