I haven’t talked about the sweet potatoes much this year. In terms of the new comers in the garden, the sunflowers and yellow squash got the lion share of the blog attention. For the most part, the sweet potatoes didn’t take much maintenance or cause much fanfare . We’ll see if that is a good thing or not come harvest.
These nine plants sure have made themselves at home in the northeast corner of the garden. They have stretched their legs well outside the bed and have climbed up and through the perimeter fence.
I spent a bit of time actually looking under the foliage and found this guy sticking out of the ground. I’m tempted to dig him up along with any of his companions on this plant and see if there is enough for a meal.
